King's Day 2021
Welcome to this online King's Day event!
On Tuesday 27 April, the Netherlands colours orange as we celebrate the birthday of our king: Koningsdag or King’s Day! Dutch people raise the flag and wear anything orange they have before heading off to street parties, flea markets, and festivals. Or so we did before we were hit by a global pandemic. Everything is a bit different now, but don’t worry: on this web page the International Welcome Centre has collected lots of activities, tutorials and information for you to have a great King’s Day!
How to celebrate King’s Day safely?
Check out the events that are organised this year, play traditional games, sell stuff you don’t use anymore at an online flea market, and impress your friends with your Dutch words, knowledge about the Netherlands, and fun facts about the King!
In the days leading up to King’s Day, we will continue expanding this page with more fun activities, interesting information and King’s Day contests with great prizes, so make sure to check back often. Scroll down and have a ‘fijne Koningsdag’.
