Utrecht Region’s cities are fill with outdoor parties and activities on King's Day. The city of Utrecht celebrates King’s day with the well-known Vrijmarkt (free market): a big outdoor market where everyone is allowed to lay down a blanket and sell their, mostly second-hand, stuff. The market takes up a large part of the city centre, from Vredenburg to the Wijde Begijnhof and starts the evening before King’s Day and lasts until 6 p.m. the next day. Vleuten has its own Vrijmarkt for Children from 9 a.m until 1 p.m.
Amersfoort hosts a similar ‘Kraampjes en -kleedjes’ market at de Oude Fabrieksstraat and de Oliemolenhof on 27 April from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. A fun activity to celebrate King’s Day in Amersfoort!
