Municipal Elections March 2022

The municipal elections will be held in the Netherlands on 16 March 2022. In these elections, residents choose who will represent them for four years in the Municipal Council. The task of the elected Council Members is to set the municipality's main policy priorities and check that the municipal executive – the Board of Mayor and Aldermen - is implementing them effectively.

You as an international resident can vote if you are:

1.    aged 18 or over;
2.    registered at the municipality;
3.    and have EU citizenship;
4.    or have non-EU citizenship but lived here for over 5 years.
