International Welcome Centre's revised services

The International Welcome Centre Utrecht Region (IWCUR) has revised its services and opening hours due to coronavirus measures.

The IND desk, civil affairs desk and the information desk at the IWCUR will be open Tuesdays all day (9am – 4.30pm) and Thursdays in the afternoon (1pm – 4.30pm) for scheduled appointments as of March 15th. Following national measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, only visitors with an appointment will be attended to. You can also have an online meeting with the international volunteers of ACCESS to get information about life in Utrecht Region.

Please note: when making an appointment to visit (one of) the IWCUR counters, you will be forwarded to the website of the municipality of Utrecht. This website is in Dutch but you can find English instructions on how to make an appointment below. If you want to visit both the IND and civil affairs desk, you must make separate appointments. Information Desk (ACCESS)
Looking for information about living, working and studying in Utrecht Region? The volunteers of ACCESS, who are expats themselves, are happy to have a chat with you to answer all your questions regarding Dutch healthcare, housing, employment, learning Dutch and more.     Instructions

    The following information guides you through the process of making an appointment on the Dutch website of the municipality of Utrecht.

    1. In the first step you choose a product. The product of your choice is automatically selected. The only thing you need to adjust is the amount of people who will attend the appointment (‘persoon/personen’). This option is automatically set on one person. If more people will join the appointment, please adjust the number accordingly. Please note: if you have a partner and/or child(ren) who also need to register or arrange their residence permit, they must come with you to the appointment.
    2. In the second step, you must choose a location. If you want to visit our centre, choose ‘Publiekszaken’.
    3. Choose a date and time slot in the third step.
    4. You are asked to provide your personal details in step four. Please provide: your first name* (voornaam), last name* (achternaam), date of birth* (geboortedatum) dd/mm/yyyy, e-mail address* and phone number. The fields with * are compulsory. Check the box (‘Ik ga akkoord met het privacybeleid’) to agree with the municipality’s privacy policy. Click the button ‘Maak afspraak’ to submit. You have made an appointment will receive a confirmation by e-mail.

      The International Welcome Centre is easily accessible from Utrecht Central Station. Leave the station via Jaarbeursplein to get to the Stadskantoor. When you arrive at the Stadskantoor for your appointment, you can scan the QR code that you have received in your mailbox, to let us know you have arrived. You will find the counters and the helpdesk of the International Welcome Centre on the second floor.

      Safety measures

      Ensuring the health of our customers and employees is our primary concern. Visiting the International Welcome Centre is therefore different from what you are used. Appointments are from now on required. For safety reasons, we have placed perspex screens at the desks. We kindly request that you keep 1.5 metres distance from others and stay home if you have cold-like symptoms.
